Job Summary :
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Solutions, this position shall provide leadership, management and technical ability / support to GFS (sub-
units including Investment Accounting, Finance Operations and Reporting & Analysis) and accountable for the provision and delivery of accounting and finance related business solutions to AIA entities in accordance with applicable accounting & regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities :
Gather and understand accounting and finance related business requirements from Local Business Units with consultations with GFS sub-
units, Group Finance and Group Investment.
Assess system capabilities against business requirements with consultations with Group SAP Solution Architects and SAP COE, as well as AIA representation on the International SAP FAM User Group.
Develop options and recommend solutions to meet business requirements, including review of solution papers and functional specifications.
Manage overall delivery of business solutions including UAT, implementation and post-implementation support.
Participate as GFS business lead in investment / finance projects impacting GFS operations, including requirements gathering, impact assessment, solutions formulation, implementation and post-
Identify and assess process / system deficiencies in GFS’s operations with consultations with the sub-units and formulate and implement improvements / enhancements with consultations with Group SAP Solution Architects and SAP COE.
Provide ongoing support and expertise in day-to-day SAP operations, including troubleshooting and issues resolution.
Provide support to the Head / Senior Managers of respective GFS’s sub-units for GFS related matters and BAU activities whenever required, including during month end closes, surges in volume and staff movement.
Maintain high quality of documentation for projects / enhancement and in accordance with GFS Business Process Manuals.
Job Requirements : Education :
University Degree in Accounting / Finance
Pursuing Internationally Recognized Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACCA, CPA etc) is an added advantage
5 + Years accounting and finance experience in a multi-national Insurance, asset management or unit trust companies
1 + years of supervisory role in the above position
Experience in a shared services or similar environment, providing investment accounting services to external / internal stakeholders.
Experience in investment / finance systems implementations / migrations.
Experience in SAP FAM, CM, Ariba, Concur and / or other accounting systems.
Specific Business Knowledge :
Advanced knowledge of investment products (Bonds, Equities, Mutual Funds, Structured Notes, Asset Backed Securities, Derivatives etc) including both accounting and investment characteristics
Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Advanced knowledge of control environments / internal controls in an investment accounting operation is an added advantage
Sound knowledge of SAP FAM, SAP FICO, SAP CM, Ariba and Concur
Sound knowledge of investment / finance systems architecture
Good presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as training techniques
Excellent self-motivation skills
Ability to motivate, coach, mentor and develop subordinates
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel is an added advantage
