Job Summary

A Marketing and Public Relations Executive plays an important role in assisting the Line Manager in achieving key objectives in line with the annual marketing and PR plan, current initiatives and relevant activities.

The marketing and PR team performs an integral role in bringing together all function areas to ensure commercial targets are heightened.

The executive role involves managing individual projects relating to marketing, media relations and internal communications andperforming day-

What will I be doing?

Responsiblefor the development of through-the-Line marketing and campaign plan with theobjective to drive MICE and Wedding revenue for Malaysia cluster of hotels, inconsultation with the National Marketing and Communications Department.

Work closely with regional marketing team to research,implement and drive destination MICE & Weddings

Assess business needs at property level and identify opportunitiesfor property specific or cluster level activity or promotion.

Prepare budget and submit costestimates for approval of marketing and campaign plan.

Responsible for timely submission of proposed promotionand offer mechanics via Campaign Origination & Request Engine (CORE)platform for Asia Pacific Marketing and hotels

Responsible for marketingstrategy and plans to be effectively delivered within an agreed timeframe,within budget and with measurable ROI on all promotions and marketingactivities.

Proactively source foronline and traditional advertising / media, sponsorship opportunities to promoteMICE and Weddings.

Responsibilityfor execution of marketing and campaign plan includes :

Overseesthe production of marketing content / assets which are project managed byMarketing Services. Through-the-line Marketing content / assets includenewsletter, eDM, posters, videos, photoshoot, DVDs, website updates etc.

Preparationand delivery of clear project / campaign brief to Marketing Services.

Establishfrequent communication with Marketing Services for clarity on projectdeliverables, status, issues and risks.

Workwith Regional Marketing and Legal to ensure all promotions / offers are clearlycommunicated to customers and ensure that developed Terms and Conditions aretranslated as required.

Reviewand provide approval of content and assets developed by Content Team (Malaysia)and external agencies in a timely manner.

Preparereports and present to stakeholders on promotion / campaign results to determinecost effectiveness of promotion campaigns.

Organiseand attend events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions.

Responsiblefor conducting market research, for example using customer questionnaires andfocus groups; and monitoring competitor activity.

Supportthe wider Advertising and Promotion Team as required.


Participation as ateam player within / inter departments.

Positive attitudeand good communication skills.

Willingnessto pick up new skills is a must.

Commitmentto delivering a high level of customer service.


  • Possess at least a Diploma,Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree inMarketing, Mass Communications, Advertising / Media or equivalent.
  • Possess knowledge of media and good relation withthe media (preferably).
  • Possess good communication and writing skill.
  • At least 1 years of working experience inMarketing / Media / Advertising.

  • Educated to College level or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
  • Proven experience of working to and understanding key marketing and PR disciplines, plans and strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. High level proficiency of native language dependant on location of role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, budget management and project and time management
  • Demonstrates an understanding of commercial awareness, able to adapt to changing priorities with key judgement and decision making skills
  • Exhibits previous experience of written work in a communications role
  • Able to interact effectively, create solutions, influence others and work diplomatically with a wide range of individuals
  • Professional approach, clean and well groomed at all times
  • Friendly demeanour, positive and enthusiastic attitude with strong customer focus and ability to work independently
  • Honesty, integrity, passion for hard work and achieving results and successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated self-starter, with excellent attention to detail
  • Creatively minded and has a desire to work in marketing and / or PR for the hospitality industry

  • It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions :

  • Previous experience of working in a marketing and PR role for the hospitality industry
  • Able to speak further key business languages
  • Qualifications or courses relating to creative, descriptive or effective writing
  • Experience of working with media and design agencies
  • Educated to College level with previous marketing and PR experience
