The Merchandising Analyst will be required to work closely with the merchants to interpret data, analyse results and draw insights using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
He or she will need to perform all category analysis and make recommendations on buying strategies as requested or suggested by management.
Based on analysis, he or she should also be able to suggest and develop inventory management opportunities, as well as locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Key Responsibilities :
Accurate & timely monthly reporting of sales, stock flow, traffic light, inventory and ageing for management
Pro-active analysis and investigation where sales are not being optimised due to changes in ordering / ranging / product mix / distributions
Manage open to buy report & financial forecast (stock flow report) while also performing ad hoc reporting and analysis for sales, margin, receipt and inventory opportunities and risks.
Gathers and interprets relevant data (sales pattern, budget, inventory, stock replenishment model, etc.)
Provides analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals
To develop and implement analysis and monitoring tools and to use these and other data as appropriate to evaluate factors affecting inventory, merchandising and promotions.
Identify & clearly articulate historical, current and forecast trends in order to make informed decisions on the future direction of the category in short, medium & long term
Promotional planning with merchandising & marketing team to assist in delivering sales growth targets and review impact of marketing activity with suggestions of future direction.
Maintain ongoing communications with merchandising and other cross functional departments
To present weekly findings to hods & superior
Possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in analysis. Retail experience in a similar capacity will be an added advantage.
Excellent problem solving skills, logical process thinking. Investigates problems to establish real or hidden causes and solves complex problems with creative solutions.
Must possess strong, effective communication skills in both written and verbal English and Bahasa Melayu. Meticulous, organised, resilient and self-motivated.
