Actuarial Analyst1900055X The Segment Insurance Consulting and Technology combines strategic and analytical skills to solve practical business problems, applying the latest techniques and technology solutions.

Its client base is comprised mainly of insurance companies operating in global and domestic markets (including P&C, life, A&H, captives and reinsurers), as well as corporate clients, regulators and other insurance-

related entities.As well as advising more than three quarters of the world’s leading insurers, Insurance Consulting and Technology is the world’s largest provider of insurance actuarial and technology solutions that includes leading software products and enterprise platforms.

The Role As an Analyst you will work on project teams focused on both life insurance and general insurance industry. You will be involved in a variety of projects including valuation, pricing, capital management, merger and acquisitions and etc for our clients.

You will be responsible for data preparation as well as producing and analysing the initial results. You will work closely with consultants and project managers who will help to increase your insurance knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills all while providing a blend of client facing skills as well.

You will contribute to varied and interesting projects such as :

  • Enterprise Risk Management Enterprise risk assessment, financial risk modelling, capital management, and reinsurance optimization
  • Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Due diligence, support in sales and capital raising, corporate restructuring and rehabilitation, reinsurance and financing alternatives
  • Self-Insurance and Captives Valuation of liabilities, healthcare professional liability, and risk retention and optimization
  • Responsibilities :

    Your responsibilities will include :

  • Working with consultants to provide support on life insurance-related client projects, including financial modelling, statutory valuations, embedded value reviews, reserve reviews, M&A appraisal valuations and risk management.
  • Learning cutting edge and market leading actuarial software packages and techniques, developed by our Financial Modelling Software team, to produce customised financial modelling solutions for our clients;
  • Making sure appropriate and effective communication among team members and the client;
  • Getting involved in research and development initiatives to develop and enhance internal firm knowledge to strengthen our leading position in the market;
  • Attending client meetings, and work on-site at clients’ offices from time to time.

  • Work collaboratively with other associates and consultants to determine initial data needs, examine obtained client information and perform any follow up work required to populate complete information sets
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Insurance industry and become familiar with the data, information, and various steps needed for reserving, pricing and capital management activities
  • Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities / maintain steady progress through actuarial exams
  • Prepare the first draft of reports for review by Senior Analysts / Consultants
  • Manage your time effectively between multiple assignments at a time

  • Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
  • The Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor of Actuarial Science with minimum of 6 exemptions for UK / USA / Australia gradudate ( UK - 2nd class upper honour / USA -
  • CGPA 3.5 and above / Aus - Merit). Please take note that ONLY Actuarial grads will be considered.

  • Strong analytical and integrative skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent in Mandarin (written and spoken)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Some experience in an insurance, actuarial or financial environment preferred
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientation
  • Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one’s work fits into the broader landscape
