Basic Purpose ofthe Job
ON Semiconductor is looking for a top tier FacilitiesEngineer for their Global Facilities group, based out of one of ONSemiconductor’s facilities in Malaysia.
As a Facilities Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity toprovide guidance and support to multiple locations in Asia.
You will also develop HVAC and othermechanical standards for implementation across nine manufacturing locations inthe region.
You will be responsible foroverseeing, suggesting, and implementing energy and water conservationinitiatives across the region and sharing best practices globally, by workingwith Facilities Engineers, Process Engineers, and Facilities Managers from thelocal manufacturing sites.
There will beadditional opportunities for learning, as you will become a corporate liaisonto a number of manufacturing locations, so you will become well versed in othermechanical systems, electrical systems, and business functions as they relate tofacilities operations and construction.
You will also be expected to provide leadership to facilitiesorganizations in ON Semiconductor’s Safety First, Quality Always policy.
This is an exciting, fast paced,self-directed opportunity for the right candidate.Travel is expected and the candidate shouldanticipate a minimum of three or more months of travel every year.
This may include requirements to travel overholidays in their home location as business needs direct.Travel, both domestic and within Asia as wellas occasional travel to the United States, will be required.
Reporting directly to the Global Facilities EngineeringManager with dotted line reporting to the Asia ATO Facilities Manager
Major Duties and Responsibilities
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in MechanicalEngineering (a Master’s in Business Administration and / or ConstructionManagement and / or Engineering is preferred) with an emphasis in HVAC systems coupledwith at least 8 to 10 years of directly related experiences.
Required to belicensed Professional / Registered Engineer with the Malaysian Board ofEngineering.Other appropriatecombinations of the above mentioned education and directly related experiencesare acceptable if the ability to perform duties and responsibilities isdemonstrated.
Strong background in facilities engineering,construction, installations, coupled with some exposure to manufacturingprocesses.
This will include operatingknowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil, structural and architecturalprocesses / tools for new building construction as well as thorough knowledge ofall applicable OSHA, Safety and building codes.
Has working knowledge of methods, materials, techniques, andcosts applicable to construction, installation, and building maintenance.
Effective communication (verbal & written) skills coupledwith information management abilities. General knowledge of computers such asword processing and spreadsheet applications.
Effective organizational, time management, as well asprioritizing skills. Has the ability to manage diverse groups of constructionand maintenance personnel.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, management skills(influence, direct, motivate, evaluate), team building techniques, andleadership abilities.
Effective analytical and problem solving skills, especiallyin areas of facilities engineering, and project management.
Demonstrated knowledge ofCleanroom HVAC design and operations
Demonstrated knowledge of CentralPlant Operations, including chillers, cooling towers, and water treatment forthese systems
Proficiency with psychometrics
Demonstrate ability to prepareconceptual design and concise scope of work for design and constructionservices
Demonstrated knowledge ofCompressed Air Dry Air design and operations
Demonstrate knowledge of thelatest International Codes, such as IBC, IMC, IPC and others
Demonstrate knowledge of fireprotection and protection systems
Additional skills in energyconservation desirable
