  • Job Purpose :

    The Sr. Procurement Manager is responsible to build up, develop and deliver NGSC Procurement Service lines for the respective area of responsibility and drives continuous improvement projects through continues transformation and effective project management.

    The role is the key contact and responsible for the service line performance through effective team management and responsible resource allocation.

    The role is responsible to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction, while delivering the required efficiency targets.

    The Sr. Procurement Manager is also responsible to establish and maintain effective measures to monitor and ensure that the service line performs according to defined service levels.

    Major Accountabilities

  • Lead & manage the team located in the global service center for the respective area of responsibility.
  • Is responsible for the relationship management with internal customer and drives customer satisfaction projects.
  • Drives quality and meaningful KPIs matrix review with internal customer, develops improvement plans and enable their implementation.
  • Is responsible for the team results in all services supported.
  • Is responsible for creation, deployment and on-going maintenance of metrics and benchmark to monitor the performance of the global process and its enabling system(s).
  • Is responsible for implementation of programs and projects in NGSC ownership.
  • Is responsible for the execution of the region / countries / tower / category performance improvement plans for the identified scope.
  • Coach the teams and monitor the quality of the team deliverables.
  • Is responsible for the development of the people within the team, managerial capacity, as well as staffing & succession planning.
  • Support the team with issue resolution & escalation.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive change management activities.
  • Enable the team effectiveness by providing an effective and quality training process.
  • Actively supports the team in becoming process experts and super users.
  • Support specific projects and change management activities to fully establish and continuously improve the process.
  • Support development and maintenance process SOPs, training materials and work instructions.
  • Drives performance benchmarking information across countries / categories and with other industries.
  • Key Performance Indicators

  • Meets targets for process build up & delivery.
  • Services delivered in line with defined KPI & target levels in close collaboration with internal customer.
  • Meets / overachieves customer satisfaction matrix.
  • Follows the service catalogue targeting a level of standardization, harmonization and reliability of the process and enabling system(s) across Novartis.
  • Implementation of process improvements is accordance with agreed plan and budget.
  • Effective team management, succession planning and development plans in place for own FTEs.

    Minimum requirements

  • University / Advanced degree is required.
  • Fluent spoken and written English. Other foreign languages as required.
  • 10 years of experience working in large international company.

  • 5-7 years of relevant business experience.
  • Very solid experience with procurement operations and sourcing.
  • Very solid experience in managing large & diverse teams.
  • Experience in Project management.
  • Experience Contract management tools, eSourcing tools (e.g SAP Ariba) and ERP requisition tools.
  • Experience in reporting & analytical tools (SAP BW, MS Access and MS Excel) and ability to interpret the results.
  • Very good knowledge of internal control norms & concepts.
  • Very good knowledge of systems in procurement area.
