Purpose of Role

To develop strategic plans and taking the lead position for all market access initiatives for all Affiliate’s product in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

To define Value and Access for optimal market access strategy, value proposition and communication for each product, catered to the local context.

  • Accountable for the ongoing adaptation, development and refinement of the country payer strategy, plans and tactics for the assigned product area (s) throughout the lifecycle
  • Works closely with Global HEOR, to support the definition and development of projects in support of access. These include adapting health economic modelling, country level epidemiology, payer environment, competitor data / intelligence and any other factor that may inform and guide local market access pricing and commercialization strategies
  • Key strategic and leadership role in with local brand teams to identify and define value proposition for portfolio in key customers
  • Coordinates the local access strategy with global commercial partner functions and GMAx function, to ensure consistent local value story and local tools are in place in a timely manner
  • Provides input into local product forecasts, including strategic, operational and financial forecasting.
  • Develops & coordinates timely roll-out of deliverables across in the local market
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge with regards to the scientific, clinical and commercial developments in the product area(s)
  • Develops and maintains a robust understanding of relevant pricing and reimbursement criteria used by payers in the local market to make informed decisions about payer strategy, plans and tactics
  • To be responsible for the local Pricing process implementation

  • Take leadership role for pricing alignment between Country and Global
  • Ensure adherence to global pricing guidance and set up correction action plans when relevant
  • Anticipate all potential changes to local Pricing & Reimbursement (P&R) environment and market dynamics and implement strategies to minimize price reductions and consequential price reference damage
  • Secure Global Pricing Approval for submission of commercialized Products in light of risks associated with International Reference Pricing and larger cross boarder impact, submits business cases
  • Utilize Global contract frameworks to optimize pricing and access strategies that could apply across core strategic brands
  • Create innovative pricing models to address market access and pricing challenges
  • Maintain a good understanding of the local legislative and policy changes that can affect the pricing strategy of the portfolio
  • Provide local Pricing expertise with monitoring and communicating on key evolution of P&R systems / regulations
  • Closely working with GHEOR

  • Be accountable for the relationship with local outsourced vendors for any development and validation work required
  • Adapt, prepare and submit relevant sections of country value dossier submissions / documentation. Participate in said meetings at payer / regulatory agencies, and provide robust evidence communication in support of local dossier submission activities.
  • Ensure proper input into local HEOR plans, and effective implementation related to area of methodology throughout execution
  • Ensure methodological projects are implemented appropriately and according to the specific needs of the local payers.
  • Essential Skills and Experience

    Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of government relations and lobbying efforts
  • A minimum of 3 years Healthcare exposure
  • Experience in a senior role where business management, networking and leadership skills were a core competency
  • Strength in teamwork
  • Experience in lobbying activities with at least 3 years sales and / or product management experience in the Pharmaceutical industry (this varies depending on current team requirements).
  • Degree in Sciences, Public Affairs, Public Policy or similar discipline
  • Individual with experiences in domestic Pharmaceuticals industry

    Desirable Qualifications

  • Government employee or Ministerial adviser
  • Excellent communications and written skills
  • Lobbying activity experience in the Public Healthcare Sector
