Assist engineers in developing test methodologies and data collection strategies. Indepently log test results, report all findings of tests performed and assist in the initial test evaluations.
Pre-release version testing, verifies upgrade performance and analyze potential or real problems.
Assemble prototype design and enhancement feature option on Handlers.
Build prototype systems and report defects by redline corrections of prints and BOM’s.
Troubleshoot to component level.
Modify fabricated parts from redlined drawings.
Design experiments to duplicate customer problems, develop data collection strategies and recommend solutions.
Assist Engineer on new prototype and pilot builds.
Assist Engineer on developing and building the test box / cart / bench.
Maintain handlers in the Engineering Lab including area clean-up.
Lead the 5S program and activities in Engineering Lab.
Develop yearly Preventive Maintenance Plan and execute Maintenance on Handler in Engineering Lab.
Coordinate and support all activities on receiving and returning Handler to production.
Support company and department programs (i.e. : First Aid / CPR and HazMat Response Team).
Provide training and technical assistance to lower level Engineering Techs.
Assist Engineer performing Failure Analysis on RMA part received from field.
Assist Engineer to collect and manage RMA part received.
Domestic and / or international travel may be required.
Education : Associates Degree in Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronic or related field, or equivalent technical training.
Experience : Minimum of three years experience as an engineering technician and fully qualified on a minimum of two Delta Design device handling systems.
Skills / Technical Requirements : Knowledge of engineering drawings (mechanical & electrical), electronics theory, PCB soldering and rework, electronic components sourcing, and completing bills of materials, and software testing / debugging.
Experience with oscilloscopes, meters, data collecting equipment, hand tools, materials, pneumatic valves and cylinders.
Ability to communicate technical information to others in an on-the-job training situations. Computer literate in Word, Excel, LabView, C+, C++ or Visual programming.
SolidWorks / AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
