ABOUT THE JOB
To enable an easy buying experience for all customers throughout the complete payment process by ensuring check-out service is fast and efficient for our customers, and cost-
effective for IKEA store and ensure payments are handled in a reliable, efficient, accurate and friendly way. This is a 3 months’ contract (15 hours per week) to work on Fridays and weekends.
Preferably able to work night shifts.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT :
Follow and adhere to cash handling procedures to ensure the security of money handling;
Accurately register products and payment from customers according to given routines using assigned till;
Ensure the check-out counter is effectively equipped at all times throughout the day, clean and organised before, during and after use;
Using assigned levels of authorisation to solve payment problems when it occur and recognise when there is a need to escalate an issue to someone with higher authorisation.
To pass on the relevant information for them to deal effectively and efficiently with the customer;
Support to ensure the blue bags are neatly sorted and arranged in front of the counter to encourage and ease customer’s purchase during check-out;
Listen to customer’s given feedback and pass it on to manager;
Support to ensure the aisles in front of the assigned check-out counter is neatly organised and well-stocked;
Support to collect and fold yellow bags;
Support loose hand activity especially in front of the check-out counters (Activity 4 area);
Ensure the store environment is safe and secure at all times for visitors and colleagues;
Offer solutions to frequently asked questions to help make a better shopping experience for customers and encourage return visits;
Contribute to the check-out action plan and taking ownership for my part in its delivery;
