To enable an easy buying experience for all customers throughout the complete payment process by ensuring check-out service is fast and efficient for our customers, and cost-

effective for IKEA store and ensure payments are handled in a reliable, efficient, accurate and friendly way. This is a 3 months’ contract (15 hours per week) to work on Fridays and weekends.

Preferably able to work night shifts.


  • Follow and adhere to cash handling procedures to ensure the security of money handling;
  • Accurately register products and payment from customers according to given routines using assigned till;
  • Ensure the check-out counter is effectively equipped at all times throughout the day, clean and organised before, during and after use;
  • Using assigned levels of authorisation to solve payment problems when it occur and recognise when there is a need to escalate an issue to someone with higher authorisation.
  • To pass on the relevant information for them to deal effectively and efficiently with the customer;
  • Support to ensure the blue bags are neatly sorted and arranged in front of the counter to encourage and ease customer’s purchase during check-out;
  • Listen to customer’s given feedback and pass it on to manager;
  • Support to ensure the aisles in front of the assigned check-out counter is neatly organised and well-stocked;
  • Support to collect and fold yellow bags;
  • Support loose hand activity especially in front of the check-out counters (Activity 4 area);
  • Ensure the store environment is safe and secure at all times for visitors and colleagues;
  • Offer solutions to frequently asked questions to help make a better shopping experience for customers and encourage return visits;
  • Contribute to the check-out action plan and taking ownership for my part in its delivery;

  • Assertive and able to remain calm and controlled when faced with emotional customers under stressful times;
  • Ability to find solutions for customer and operational issues;
  • Ability to work on agreed working methods independently and reliably;
  • Good attention to details by being persistent, structured and accurate;
  • Be passionate about customers and act to ensure a positive shopping experience;
  • Able to multitask and enjoy working in a fast-paced and future-oriented retail environment;
