The purpose of this role is to ensure the completeness and accuracy of monthly financial statements of a number of legal entities within the FTSE consolidation within the Information Services Division.
This is a highly analytical and visible role which will require the successful candidate to demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving, collaboration and communication skills.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate their ability to understand the practical finance process on a day to day basis for a number of legal entities, coupled with having strong financial accounting knowledge and statutory financial reporting experience, and will be expected to contribute to the design & delivery of key controls surrounding legal entity accounting.
This is a 12 month fixed term contractor role.
Accountable for the month end close process for a number of FTSE entities, ensuring that financial information is accurate and reported on a timely basis.
Main point of contact for all financial & accounting queries in relation to your entities, including resolving stakeholder queries on key finance process, and work collaboratively with finance operations and treasury to resolve items identified
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analytical review, working closely with finance business partners to understand trends identified.
At interim and year end prepare analysis on key balance sheet movements & supplementary financial information to support the Group’s IFRS consolidation for statutory reporting in HFM.
Prepare statutory accounts, work with auditors and resolve queries within tight deadlines
Identify opportunities to improve month end financial close processes and controls.
Various additional activities, such as ad hoc analysis, project work and taking on further entities as the Group expands
Working collaboratively with the projects, HR payroll, and intercompany teams to proactively resolve any issues that may arise during the month end close and also to devise new reporting approaches.
Personal Qualities & Experiences
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA or equivalent in local jurisdiction), 2-3 years post qualified
Experience working on multi-currency ledgers and in a matrix environment
Strong system skills essential with experience of Oracle or a similar ERP system required.
People skills and a good attitude are essential.
Should be able to work independently and be able to demonstrate problem-solving abilities
Strong excel skills are required with the candidate able to demonstrate experience in working with large quantities of data
Management reporting experience and has worked through month end close cycle
